NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA): Your Fast Track to a Design Degree
Dreaming of joining the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) but don’t want to start from scratch? The NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA) is your golden ticket! If you’ve completed a diploma in design, technology, or related fields, you can leap directly into the 3rd semester (second year) of NIFT’s UG programs. No repeats, no delays—just pure momentum.
Who’s Eligible?
For B.Des (Bachelor of Design):
Passed Class 10th AND
A 3/4-year AICTE/UGC-recognized diploma in:
Fashion/Apparel/Textile Design
Graphic/Industrial/Interior/Multimedia Design
Fine Arts, Handloom Tech, or Home Science.
OR
Passed Class 12th AND
Completed a 2-year UG Diploma at NIFT.
For B.F.Tech (Bachelor of Fashion Technology):
Passed Class 10th AND
A 3/4-year diploma in Fashion/Textile Tech or Handloom Tech.
OR
Passed Class 12th with Mathematics AND
A 2-year NIFT UG Diploma.

Who Should Apply?
Engineers or math-background diploma holders: Target B.F.Tech or B.Des.
Creative innovators: Opt for B.Des.
Age Limit: 24 years (relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/PWD).
The NLEA Selection Process
Your admission hinges on:
Entrance Exam (GAT): Tests general aptitude (40% weightage).
Studio Test/TAT: Evaluates technical skills (40% weightage).
Personal Interview: Assesses creativity and vision (20% weightage).
Key Exam Details:
GAT Format: Computer-based, 120 minutes. Negative marking (+1/-0.25).

SC/ST/PWD: ₹1,500 (non-refundable).
