New SSC Rules for PwBD Candidates: Did You Know? – Check Now!
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued a vital notice for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) appearing in upcoming exams. From Selection Post Phase XIII (2025) onwards, candidates must carry original disability certificates to avail compensatory time or scribe assistance—failure to do so may result in denial of these facilities.

Key Updates for PwBD/PwD Candidates:
Earlier Relaxation No Longer Applies:
Previously, candidates with certain disabilities (like visual impairment, cerebral palsy, or both arms affected) did not need to submit documents at exam centers. However, the rules have now changed.
Mandatory Upload & Original Certificates Required:
Candidates must upload disability certificates during the application process.
Even if uploaded, original documents must be carried to the exam hall—otherwise, compensatory time or scribe support will not be granted.
Strict Compliance for Scribe Facility:
Those needing a scribe due to writing difficulties must submit Annexure-I or IA (as applicable) at the exam center.
If proper documents are missing, the request will be rejected.
What Should You Do?
✔ Double-check your application to confirm disability certificates are uploaded correctly.
✔ Carry original certificates (plus a photocopy) to the exam center without fail.
✔ Reach early to avoid last-minute hassles in document verification.
Final Reminder:
The SSC’s latest advisory aims to streamline the process but places responsibility on candidates to provide valid proof. Don’t risk losing essential accommodations—ensure you have all documents ready before exam day!
